I'm looking for the title of a book that I read some time ago. All I can remember about the book is that it is set in the tunnels under New York City and involves the homeless population of the city; while the story is fiction, the setting is mostly accurate. Does this ring a bell with anyone? Thanks, Lynn

Is it a mystery?  This probably isn't it, but I just finished reading Escape by Robert Tanenbaum.  It is a series set in New York and a lot of the plot lines involve the tunnels and the "mole people" who live underground.  I'm sure that isn't what you are talking about, but since I just finished that one, that is what popped in my mind.  Good Luck in finding the one you are looking for!

Not sure if it's what you're looking for but I read a book a couple years ago by John Saul that is set in  New York City underground. It was The Manhattan Hunt Club.

I also thought of the mole people in Robert K. Tanenbaum's books...I think they were introduced in the earlier book Fury.  I think it also dealt with terrorists trying to srt off a bomb set in these tunnels, but I don't remember that part of the story all that well.  There was another plot line dealing with a false rape charge against a professor.

Thanks for the ideas! I don't think either of these is the one, although I ordered Manhattan Hunt Club to make sure. I've been trying to recall other details from the book... I do remember there is one scene that takes place in a subway station that was built for some extremely wealthy residents but never put into service. Lynn

I think that's in Manhattan Hunt Club, but I'm pretty sure I've also seen it in one or two of the Preston/Child books.

I just finished reading The Manhattan Hunt Club and it is not the one I was looking for. Can anyone else think of any possible titles?
