I read this book in my early teens so that was a good 20 years ago. All I remember is that it takes place during the Revolutionary War and a teenage girl and her family take in a wounded English soldier. For some reason they are hiding something (special papers maybe?) in the house and even in the room where the soldier is sleeping in a false bottom drawer. I remember the scene where she has to get them out while he is asleep. :) It was definitely a young adult book but not really a romance. If I remember correctly the soldier recovers and goes home to England at the end. Any ideas? |

Is it My Brother Sam Is Dead? |

No - it's not that book. The main character is definitely female and her name might be Sarah. It's also not Ruffles and Drums by Betty Cavanna because I found that I had read that book also about the same time. Last Edited on: 2/25/10 12:43 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

It sounds so familiar, I do think I read it too. |

There's a book in the Sunfire series called Sabrina, and Sabrina's father/uncle/guardian spies and has stuff hidden about. I believe her Tory soldier boyfriend gets wounded at one point and they don't end up together at the end. She goes off with her backwoods patriot. That was published in the early 80s. |

There is a book by Scott O'dell called Sarah Bishop. It is set during the Revolutionary War. The only thing I remember about it was that she went and hid in a Cave during the second half of the book. |

Thanks for the ideas. It's not Sarah Bishop - although that books sounds like it might be good. :) |
