I've been wanting to read some books that are set at the time of war in the  30s, 40s & 50s. Does anyone know of some good Christain titles and Authors that write these kinds of books?

My favorite author (at the moment) for World War II fiction is Sarah Sundin. Her books are A Distant Melody and A Memory Between Us, with the third in the series due this summer. She's a new author to me but I think her stories are well written.

i really like Tricia Goyer's Liberator series (From Dust to Ashes, Night Song, Dawn of a Thousand Nights, Arms of Deliverance)  are sent during WWII. these are historical fiction, not historical romance.

I second the Sarah Sundin books. They are great! Wonderful writing and the style is excellent. I had a hard time getting into Tricia Goyer's books. They just seemed dry. But I am more the type who likes the romance so that is probably it.

I just finished River's Edge by Marie Bostwick and enjoyed it.  The book takes place during WW II mainly.

Have this boxed set-ISBN--076429122x--not posted, three books.  Text on back of box:  A World at Peril unveils the important things of life.  A three-time Christy Award-winner for historical fiction, Lynn Austin is the ideal novelist to pen this sweeping look at the Civil War.  Each book--one each told from the Northern, Southern, and slave points-of-view--offers a unique and shattering perspective on the conflict while exploring the deep effect the war had on the faith of a nation.  Two are WL'd, but prefer not to split the box, so would like 2 credits for it,.

I agree with Tina. I read these years ago and loved them. The first 6 were written first and then years later there were 3 more added to the series. Sad to say I have not read those yet. The books track one family as they are faced with having to keep moving as Hitler takes over the governments of the countries they live in. The story is face-paced and they kept my interest all the way through. They were hard to put down. The first in the series is Vienna Prelude then second is  Prague Counterpoint.

I also read two of the Tricia Goyer books mentioned. They were very good as well especially From Dust and Ashes. I ended up ordering the others after I read this one. I read Night Song as well so far.

I read these and was surprised at how much I enjoyed them since it isn't the type of book that I usually read:

His Truth Is Marching On : A World War II Novel :: Robert Vaughan

Touch the Face of God: A WW II Novel :: Robert Vaughan

He has a third one but I haven't read it.
