I am hoping that someone can clear something up for me regarding Lora Leigh's Breed Series.  I notice that there is a Breed Series, with Megan's Mark as the first book, and a Feline Breed Series, with Tempting the Beast as the first book.  When I went on the Paranormal Series thread at the beginning of the Paranormal forum, the link for the Breed series lists books from both the Breed and Feline Breed series.  Does one follow the other or are the completely different?  I have to read books in order, so I do not want to start in the wrong place.  Any info on this would be great!  Thanks!  ~ Rebecca

Thanks for the reply Angela!  I checked out the link to the other thread and think that I understand a little bit better.  I am receiving Tanner’s Scheme soon and I thought that was the 3rd book in the series, but after reading that other thread, I think it is actually the 9th.  Yikes!  That's a lot of books to read before that one! ~ Rebecca

Plus the WL's are long and go very slowly for the first few books. I have the first three Feline Breed books on my WL since I already have the 4th and I've barely moved in line.

i just finished Tanner's Scheme a few days ago, and didn't feel like i was missing anything.  i'd read two short stories (the one from Shifter, and a Wolf Breed story - probably Wolfe’s Hope) and Soul Deep (Coyote Breed) before that.

i think if you're able to read just one of the Breeds stories that explains the whole mating heat thing (because it wasn't really explained here like it was elsewhere), then you can just read Tanner's Scheme if you want.

there may be things that mean more to people who've read the earlier books, but i certainly didn't feel i was missing plot points.  i don't mind knowing who the earlier couple are, because let's face it - if they've got a book they get together by the end, so it's not really a spoiler.

a question i had before reading them was whether or not the more mainstream published ones were 'tamer' than the Ellora's Cave titles.  after reading them, the activities are about the same, and it was still pretty hot, but the language in Tanner's Scheme was .. well, more polite is the best way i can think of to say it.

The first 3 Breed stories really let you know how it all started!  The lead characters (Merinus & Callan)  in #1 really show how it happens as it occurs.

I may read a bit of Tanner's Scheme to see if I will even be interested in reading the other books.  If I'm not into it, I won't even bother waiting on the long WL.  I think there were 205 people on line for Tempting the Beast!  Wait, 211, I just checked!

If I had an extra copy, I would send it to you.  The book is worth the wait or even if you went on Overstock, Ellora's Cave, or E-bay it would be well worth the $$$$$.

Have a good week-end.

I was just looking at prices of these books on Amazon and found this, it's very helpful

"Lora Leigh's Breeds series is one of my favorites. A lot of readers have a bit of trouble figuring out the timeline in this fascinating saga. The confusion, I think, is because of the fact that these books are really comprised of four different, yet connected, series.

First came the 'Feline Breeds' series followed by the 'Wolf Breeds' series and 'Coyote Breeds' series, all from Ellora's Cave. Then Ms. Leigh contracted with NY publisher Berkley to publish the remaining books in this saga, and the new books fall under the all-encompassing series name, 'The Breeds.' The books under this new series name were ordered beginning with ‘Book One’ and so forth, causing many to scratch their heads. You see, most people had already simplified the previous series names in their minds to just ‘The Breeds’ and didn’t remember that those previous books were under different series names.

A timeline can be found on the author's website, as well as suggested reading order for the books. All of these books are connected to each other, with crossover characters between all three series, shared histories, and continuing storylines. Each of the books have been written in such a way that a reader new to these books can easily start with whichever books grabs their fancy first. I myself started with ‘Soul Deep’. While I had no trouble following the story, I loved it so much I was compelled to immediately purchase and read all of the remaining stories in this riveting and sensual saga.

And here is the link where she lists them in order... http://www.amazon.com/Lora-Leighs-Breeds-guide-order/lm/RIY9TWLFJ43V6/ref=cm_lmt_srch_f_2_rsrsrs0

That list on there is the way they were published, not how they fall in line. The list I posted in the other post is the chronological order from Lora Leigh's site.

I didn't read them in order but then I went back and read the 1st and it makes it a much better story. Now I'm going back in order. Also if you don't want to buy the book cause of the cost just go get the ebook. I have most of them in ebook and it's easier.

I would love to save space and $$ by getting e-books, but I don't have an e-book reader.  My husband (sweetheart that he is) went and bought me one and it turned out to be a disaster!!  It was from a local computer store and didn't have what I really wanted.  I just want a trade size book reader that I can use for e-books.  What I got was something you could use for everything.  I am not an electronic wizzard and just wanted something simple to read books on.  We ended up sending it back.

Finished:  Midnight Rising by Lara Adrian

About to start:  Highlander Unchained by Monica McCarty

Ashley ~ I found your list to be very helpful although I have one question.  The list says that Elizabeth's Wolf is the 3rd book published, but on amazon it says it is the 4th in the wolf breed series.  I am not sure I understand why that is.  Any info from anyone would be great! ~ Rebecca

My list is straight from the author so that is the one I would go with.

Also, the published order is different from the reading order.

What would the reading order be?  I have a gift certificate for Amazon and was thinking about ordering a few of her first books.
