Anyone else read this?  Just wondering if so, did you pick up that the character Mary was also called Jules before the last 2 chapters??? I don't think that was laid out so well and had me confused there at the end for a while?    Just curious....Pauline

Heat Seeker is almost to the top of my TBR stack, but I haven't read it yet.

The mysterious Jules was mentioned in another thread last month (Wishlist? What we're reading this week? I don't remember). Anyway, the consensus seems to be that the character is channeling Jules Cassidy from Brockmann's Troubleshooter series... ;)

This name change problem occurs all too frequently and not unique to Leigh's books. But you'd think after all these years someone would teach her how to use search/replace on her computer!

It does not flow well in my opinion. I haven't been able to make it through to the end yet, and usually I read one of her novels in 2 days...been working on this one for 2 weeks now...

There were parts were I was like...does that even make sense? Are we suppose to know something we don't.

I just finished the book. Ugh!

The flow wasn't so bad as to be distracting, but...

  • I suspect Leigh listened to some fan who wanted MORE sex in her stories. This one far exceeded even the Bound Hearts series and at times when no real person would want to get naked.

  • The grammatical errors are so numerous I wanted to red pencil the book and send it to Leigh.

  • Incredible! I may not be among the filthy rich, but I have to doubt that even they would include ballrooms in their architectural plans for vacation homes in Aspen. At least 2 homes in the story have this "feature."

  • Frustrated by what would have to be inadvertent deletions. Such as the missing dialog at the top of page 171. I had to reread from the beginning of the conversation to be sure I hadn't missed something. Nope. The author and editor missed something.

  • And lastly, the previously and frequently mentioned name change between Mary and Jules. Not just from chapter to chapter as one might expect from an inattentive author, but from paragraph to paragraph within a scene!

We can only hope that now that her divorce is behind her, Lora Leigh will be able to focus more carefully on the next book...

I can't believe that people would actually complain about there not being enough sex in a Lora Leigh book. Probably because she started off righting the short straight erotica books for Ellorascave.

Yeah, Susanna. This one might be a disappointment. I've always enjoyed her books because of the plot and character depth (like guys reading Playboy for the articles, eh?). This one might have to be classified as a ROMP (lotsa sex, plot lite).

Glad it wasn't just me....I haven't read much of Lora Leigh, aside from this one, I have enjoyed the others I have read.  I do hope things improve soon.
