Lord of Legends :: Susan Krinard

Has anyone read this book? It has a 4 star rating on Amazon...

Also, I wanted to try something a little more light-hearted. I read Derik's Bane by Mary Janice Davidson, but it was a little... I don't know... too silly? Some of it was good but I couldn't finish it. How about Bronwyn the Witch series by Candace Havens? Any opinions on these authors?:

Ronda Thompson,  Annette Blair,  Katie MacAlister...

I've read Stephanie Rowe and Katie MacAlister and like them both.  Annette Blair is in my TBR pile.  Haven't read anything by Thompson or Krinard yet.

The first of Annette Blair's triplet witch books was a rare DNF for me (but I seem to be alone on that).  For light paranormals, I've been gobbling up Lynsay Sands' Argeneau books and Shelley Laurenston's/ G.A. Aiken's books.  I've also enjoyed Nina Bangs.  I have some Vicki Lewis Thompson books on my TBR but I haven't read the yet.

I bought the first book in the Niki Styx series at my local FOTL. I also got the 1st of Glory St. Clair by Gerry Bartlett and the 3rd in Vegas Vampires by Erin McCarthy. Only a quarter each...

I was thinking about trying Annette Blair's Triplet Witch series... But I did find a Lindsay Sands book.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Michele Bardsley's Broken Heart, Oklahoma series is another good one.

I'm a big fan of MacAlister's Aisling Grey, Guardian series. Very funny, but not as silly as Davidson (at least compared to what little I've read of hers). Gena Showalter's Atlantis series can be good for a few laughs, too.

Karen Kelley's Planet Nerak books are light and funny, pretty steamy too.

Steamy, light, and funny sounds pretty good, lol.

Love Gena Showalter. She's definately different. I do have 2 of her Atlantis books, read one and am waiting for the other to show. (Was mailed 09/15... long wait.)

Cool... More authors to check out:)

G.A. Aiken (aka Shelley Laurenston) has 3 books out in her Dragon series.   Dragon Actually, About a Dragon and What a Dragon Should Know.  They're definitely funny.   I think her shifter series is funny too but the language is gutter, sex often and graphic and a bit on the violent side--but still funny if the other stuff doesn't bother you:lol:

I love the Dragon series. They make me laugh out loud.  Definite keepers. I mailed the newest out for a swap and had to buy myself a keeper copy.

Damn but I like the Aikins Dragon books.  All are on my keeper shelf along with most of her books and novellas in the pack and pride series as Shelly Laurenston.  She also has a dragon kin novella in an anthology as Laurenston.  Didn't care for the Pack long novella, short novel in Belong to the Night anthology.  I have Pack Challenge (OK, but not her best), Go Fetch! (very good) and Here Kitty, Kitty (My all time favorite), The Mane Event, The Mane Attraction, The Beast in Him, and I'll buy The Mane Squeeze when it's released later this month.

Candace Havens writes well, but the her books are shallow and sort of Sex in the City meets Buffy.  I've read several of her Brownyn the Wth and they are slightly better than her Caruthers sisters Guardians books.  I like Michelle Rowan's Immortality Bites and Kathy Love's Young Brother's vampire books.  None in in the same 'laugh out loud' class as Aikens/Laurens.

SOme of Lynsay Sands earlier Argeneau Vampires are good - SIngle, White Vampire, The Accidental Vampire and Bite Me If You Can are my three personal favorites.  Her latest book in the 'Hunter' part of her series have gone darker and I don't think she can quite carry it off.

Kerrelyn SParks strikes a nice balance between humor and a darker tale with her somewhat uneven Love at Stake books.  How to Marry a Vampire Millionaire was very good as was Be STill My Vampire Heart and The Undead Next Door.

Yesterday I couldn't find any other books by Shelly Laurenston on Amazon, but checked it out today. I actually have a couple of her books WL'ed, so I must have read something by her. Laugh out loud is kinda what I'm looking for, for a change. I just started Dead Girls Are Easy by Terri Garey and so far I love it:)
