The illustrations caught my eye since they look a bit like Tomie DePaola. A boy wants to be a good shepherd and his grandfather talks to him about the work which includes defending sheep against wolves and sleeping at the door of the sheep pen. Finally Grandson finds out, good shepherd that he'll be, he is taken care of too!
