Is this series any good? I just started and it seems alot like the BDB series. That's fine I guess but wondering if it's really worth reading.

Thanks

I haven't read any of these books.  I am not a big Gena Showalter fan.  I like Lora Leigh, Angela Knight, Cheyenne McCray with a dash of Linda Howard and Jayne Krentz.  I really liked the BDB originally, but haven't been too fond of the last couple.  I hope you like the series.

I've read one of them and your right they are like BDB. I can't remember the name of the one book I did read but it was not the first one. It was O.K.

I actually LOVED lord of the underworld series(they are all in my keeper shelf). This series was my first book by Gena Showalter. I'm not really into paranormal but I really enjoyed this series.

What's BDB?

I've read the Lord of the Underworld series and really liked them - can't wait to see if she comes up with more in series!

I haven't read any of the Brotherhood of the Black Dagger (BDB) series by J.R. Ward - that's on my list to get to someday LOL!

I love the LOU and the BDB series. Yes they share many of the same thematic elements but they are different enough to stand on their own. I didn't like some of Gena Showalter's other work but I love this series. Can't wait for new books to come out. I would definately give the first one a try if you like the BDB series.

I read the first LOU and the only thing I didn't like about it is they never left the castle or palace or what ever it was. I also didn't think they were at all like the BDB or DH series. Tamara!! Get BDB series by Ward right away. Out of all of the series, those are the best.

First one was so-so for me, but the 2nd one was really good. Third is still on TBR. Definately not keepers for me, but still good reads.

Not keepers for me either but I liked them....  I don't keep anything tho.  And I don't like McCray or Leigh.

I really like these books, they do remind you of BDB but I think that's because there are alot of Lords just like the brothers. I can't wait until the next one comes out.

I've read all of them and I loved each one.  They do remind me of the BDB series, but these are good too.

I have the whole set on my TBR and my sister in law has read them. She says they are great. If they are like BDB, then I may have to bump them to the top of the pile.

I didn't really care for Lords of the Underworld series. Each book seemed to be the same formula with different characters...

I just sent these away.  I generally keep series books, but these weren't "read again" ones for me.  I'm not especially fond of her heroines, and the BDB mold (including Lara Adrian's Breed books) is starting to feel worn.  That said, though, I did like them enough that I'll probably read Paris' story when it comes out.

I really like her books but this series is kinda predictable.  There are 3 out now and I think the 2nd is the best, so start there.   They aren't bad but not great.  I would try her other books except for the one with the picture of the girl and the flame on the front cover which was suprisingly dull.
