I really love her SBC series, but I just read the blurb for the next one in the rhapsody catalog and I am pissed. Why mess with a good thing? Did she really need to throw in this crap? Not that I don't like time travels, I do, but not in the middle of a contemp series.

Bestselling author Lori Foster’s blistering SBC Fighter series takes a tantalizing turn in My Man, Michael as pugilist Michael “Mallet” Manchester finds himself fighting for his life—in the future!

When SBC warrior Michael first meets Kaylie, a warrior from the 23rd century, he thinks she’s a figment of his imagination. He is, after all, under a lot of medication, thanks to the recent car accident that shattered his leg. But she’s no hallucination, and she has a deal that’s impossible to resist: help save her people, and she’ll restore his leg. Not one to say no to a good fight, Michael agrees, embarking on an extraordinary journey into the future—one that embroils him in a war to save Kaylie’s world…and a battle to win her heart.

OMG!   Why?  I mean for real...why?  I actually enjoyed that series but I cannot see myself rushing to get this next one.

If you really want to ask her, she hangs out at the Romantic Times bulletin board.

I like this series and I like paranormals - I'll be reading it I'm sure!    Does sound "different" than her usual though :)

Don't get me wrong, I love paranormals. My tbr of almost 1000 is 90% paranormal, but I don't want to get into a series that is normal and have the rules thrown out the window. Bleh

Bowing to that pressure from her publishers or whoever to write something paranormal maybe?  She usually just writes contemporaries, right?  I actually have no idea; I've only read a few of her books, but that's what they all were.  I always presume that it's publishers pushing that anyway.  I mean, I can't think of any other reason to shift into paranormal gear in the middle of a contemporary series.

Everyone is going paranormal. This is probably her attempt to do that. Although she's also L.L. Foster right?

What are the titles of the SBC series?  I am reading the Buckhorn Brothers books now but I have never read anything else of hers.

What is the title of her paranormal book?  I hate those storylines and more and more authors are turning to it.
What happened to the day to day good old romance storylines?  Such a disappointment...

That just sucks.  I like paranormals, but like mixing in contemporaries for a change.  I don't particularly like many time travels.  There are less and less good comtemporaries lately.    I think the paranormal phase is going to burn itself out if there is too much of a glut in the market.

That just pisses me off. I bought it yesterday assuming it was like the rest of the series.  I guess next time I will read the back before buying.  I will move it way down on my list.  I too love paranormal but Lori Foster throwing in time travel in her SBC books would be like Lisa Kleypas allowing one of her Wallflower gals to marry a vampire.  Seriously...come on Ms. Foster!!  I guess I go better read the back on my new Lucy Monroe book and make sure she's not throwing in elves this time!

i'm going to wait until i hear the reviews from this group.  it pisses me off -- i agree with Ashely & others - it's a contemp series, why throw in some paranormal?  keep the two separate!!

Has anyone read this yet? I tried and I just can't get into it. I set it aside and will try and read it later, but I was wondering what you all thought.

Oh thanks for the warning...I have a hold on it for the library so I don't think this would be something of interest to me.

Her last one about fighting was also not interesting to me.  I like the romance storylines...c'mon stay with what works!
