I am new to this so please being understanding. I had a request for a book I just recieved and had not had the chance to read. I know where and how that happened, but here is the problem. I accidentally cancelled the transaction for the request of my book(the one I just recieved) and lost credit. How do I get that back?

You can't. You can repost the book and wait for it to be requested again.  If the book was WL it'll get offered to someone immediately. It may or may not be the same person depending on if any other copies were posted in the meantime.  If there are other copies in the system, your copy will go to the end of hte line and work its way back up.  Probably not a long line since you haven't been here long.   If there were other copies posted then when you cancelled the system would have ordered the book for that person from someone else.

You don't get a credit for a book until you makr it mailed and it's marked received.  So you didn't lose a credit.  The only time  you get a credit early is you use PBS DC and even then it's only if it's scanned.

Go to My Account, Main page.  Under that you can see your credit registry and your transaction archive.  You should have not lost credit for canceling a book as you would not receive credit until the book was received.  Unless this was one of your first ten books posted?  If it was your "free" credits after posting 10 books, then you will receive it back after getting 10 books posted.

Ok please don't think I am too ignorant, but it says -1 in my credit column. I have 3 books I have mailed this week. When all those come in as recieved I will only have 2 credits because I cancelled the request?

Your total credit will be at the top of the page banner.  The credit registry has - and + depending on if a book is going out or in.  Take into consideration that you do not get a credit until a book is marked as received.  (Unless you use PBS postage.)  The credit registry is important as it will list the reason why the credit was added or removed.  (Even though it can be confusing to look at.)

It is possible to have negative credits.  This can happen when books go lost.  Or if you lose the free credits.  I've heard it happens when you order an audio book with only one credit.

The free credits are based on address, one set per household.  If someone was a member at your address before, then the credits might be removed.  If you have moved into a household where a previous tenant was a member, but no one is in your household, then you need to contact PBS.
