"An evocative memoir that will not only attract parents or would-be parents of Chinese baby girls but also touch the hearts of us all." Chicago Tribune

This is a great memoir! Not only does the author take us on her journey of adopting a little girl in China, but all of the political and cultural baggage that surrounds the process. It's not a good thing to be a girl in China, then nor now! This is also a good read for Asian Americans born in America. We almost share the same identity struggles growing up. There is a great resource in the back of the book for adoptions in China.

An amazing book! A must read for anyone who is looking for more information on adopting from China or just information on China's one child policy.
