I am so p.o.'d. I sent an item that took 33 stamps (I have a lot of forever stamps). I know the clerk gave me the tear-off part with the recipients name and address and DC number. But now I cannot find it. Local PO tells me I'm "out of luck" if I need to track the package. Is that true?

Yes, the local PO doesn't keep any record of mailing for Delivery Confirmation. |

If you get the DC though PBS, you wouldn't have to worry about keeping track of the little green slip....just saying....! |

Did you purchase something on that visit? I think sometimes the DC number is on the receipt the clerk hands you if he scanned it in during the transaction. Not entirely sure. |

Yes, the receipt from USPS has the DC number on it. |

I don't have that type of equipment in my post office & therefore we don't have receipts with DC numbers. Small town:) |
