Quick read that chronicles the re-discovery of a lost Carvaggio masterpiece in 1980's/1990's Europe. Based on interviews with many scholars, art historians and others who were involved in the discovery. It reads like a fiction narrative although the story is true. If your heart beats a little faster when you find some nugget of information deep in the library stacks, you'll get a vicarious thrill from this book.

Interesting story of the finding of an origial Carravagio painting. Great detail of Italian life and research conducted to prove the authenticity of this painting. Story and characters built into these facts. Fast read. susan

The book was fascinating and covers 400 years worth of mystery surrounding the artisdt Caravaggio and the lost painting The Taking of Christ. I read the book in one sitting!

Wonderful book about tracking down a long ago lost painting ,If you love books about paintings and forgotten art and painters you won't be disappointed in this one.
An interesting true story that almost reads like fiction.
Really fascinating. A lot better than A Civil Action!
