Let me say, up front, that I absolutely hated CRUSADERS GOLD and I was all set to feel the same about this one. Well, I was wrong! This is a far better book. I felt that the main characters (who had either been in, or mentioned in CG) were better written and as a result, they were more "real". I could sense real feelings and situations - perhaps the author has started to care about the people living inside his head!

Anyhow---read this book, please. If you enjoy a wholloping adventure that doesn't sicken you with blood, guts and gore then this is your ticket!

It apears to me that this is the third book for these characters. References to the other books/stories gave me the impression that the character development was done in the other books. As a result I was never "invested" in these characters. Story had a good plot but there were jumps that probably needed the information and character development from the previous books. At this time I am not inclined to seach out the other books.
