Thoroughly enjoyed it! Much finer writing than in the Sherlock Holmes stories. I can see why Doyle wanted to get rid of SH. Too bad more people don't read this one.

Maybe this was the inspiration for Michael Crichton ... I don't know, but it is great prescient SciFi!

This book reminded me of H. Rider Haggard's novels...

Not as good as his Sherlock Holmes, but a decent read, and more interesting after watching the tv show.

Fun adventure book. If you can look past where science has marched on in the past 100 years, it's ok.

An excellent adventure story, fun and exciting...Jurassic Park in 200 pages! I don't know how well a modern boy could enjoy this book, due to the antiquated vernacular and sentence structure. Written more than 100 yrs. ago, it is awkward and sometimes difficult to follow. Other than that, a great read! D.

Conan Doyle always keeps you turning the pages. All his stories rate up on top of the list. The Lost World is one of those books. You have a tough time trying to put it down. You get hooked immediately and are not able to stop. Adventure, mystery, action, all rolled into one. Highly recommended.
