Lothar Meggendorfer (November 6, 1847 in Munich — July 7, 1925 in Munich) was a German illustrator and writer known for his superb pop-up books.
He was first published in 1862 in the Fliegende Blätter, an illustrated comic weekly, and from 1868 in the bi-weekly Münchener Bilderbogen. He also illustrated Neues Struwwelpeterbuch with text by Julius Beck, published by J.F. Schreiber in the 1890s.
Every year, the Movable Book Society awards a pop-up book a prize named after Meggendorfer.
