A little slow starting out but stick with it. I laughed so hard at what I call the "yo-yo" scene where Cynthia is in the hallway late one night because she has overheard an asignation set up between Miles and another lady. So Miles opens his door expecting his late night date, but there stands Cynthia. Miles is so shocked he grabs her wrist, pulls her in his room, and just as quickly says "Oh my God! you can't be here!" And pushes her right back out in the hall!! This goes on a bit more with Miles thinking, saying one thing, pulling her in his room, and then just as quickly reverses it and pushes her out. What a hoot!!
I hope Ms. Long will pick up stories with not only the other 2 Redmonds but several other characters as well.
The only disappointment: "Lavay." The one word told to Violet (Miles sister) when they go to the gypsies to have their fortunes told. That would have made for an awesome ending for Violet to see that word written on something, a reference to it somewhere, or someone introduced with that name. Talk about major "$@!!! When's the next book?" =)
Loved this one, I laughed so hard, tears were coming, just 10* for me!

As a historical romance, this is really more on the erotic fantasy side -- and it's a very well done romance of that kind: sexy, sensual, funny. It's not the real historical regency, or even the regency of Georgette Heyer et al.; it's too modern for that (on page 1, various community members, including members of the upper classes, male and female, are hanging out at the local 'pub', for instance). It seems to me the author's knowledge of social customs of the day is derived mostly from reading other authors' wallpaper regencies rather than histories or actual sources, and I can't respect that. But, be that as it may, if you're in the mood for this sort of thing, for what it is, it is very well written.
