Janette Oke's fiction was my first introduction to Christian fictions, so this series was my first series in a long story of love and encouragement I have received from her work as well as a wealth of others. Lighter reading than some of my other favorites, like Thoene and Rivers, Oke does an excellent job of portraying story line, love and hardship, and real characters. If you have not read her and like historical Christian fiction, get a series and sit back for an easy ride with love and emotions flowing.
