I could not even finish this book. I got about 3/4 done (in two hours) but the storyline is so unreal. The bedroom scenes are good, but doesn't fit in with the heroine being a Quaker.
Vengeance was Jason Wade's only purpose; the BOston lawyer had sworn to avenge his wife's death. Tracking her suspected killer to Wisconsin, he knew that to entertain a flirtation with the lovely CHarity Applegate was to court disaster. But her smile weakened his resolve, her touch awakened a longing hitherto unknown to him, and her honesty broke down his defenses until Jason wondered if the path to salvation lay not in retribution, but in loving Charity.
On the even of the Civil War, Charity Applegate accepted the risks involved in following one's heart. Her Quaker family aided the underground railroad, and the arrival of the darkly handsome Jason Wade could expose them all. BUt caught in his passionate embrace, Charity realized he challenged the strength of her couarge even further - by daring her to trust him. And she knew she would have to make a great leap of faith for the best reward of all: love.
