Oh I truly enjoy this writer. She has such wit and charm that I, again, found myself laughing out loud quite often and close to tears sometimes, too. This is the second of the Highlander series that I have read and I'm finding the rest and reading them too. I hope she continues to write more in this series. You will not be disappointed!

The last six years have been earth-shaking for Morgan MacKeage. Being wrenched out of his century and dumped into the future is nothing to take lightly. Father Daar, the Druid wizard who accidentally transported the MacKeage clan into the future, lost his powerful magical staff in a remote pond. Ever since, Morgan's noticed a strange pattern among the trees and animals. Morgan and Daar realize that a dark influence is trying to take hold in the wilderness.

Mercedes "Sadie" Quill is intent on building a legacy for her late father and sister. Asked to put together a proposal for a wilderness park, she's been carefully hiking and marking the proposed territory. Knowing that he must protect the secrets of this area, Morgan is not about to let a wilderness park be built near Daar's magic-laden pond.

Okay, not as good as the first in the series. First part of the book was funny when they first meet and their first date. Still, though, I like this Pine Creek reverse time traveler series - it's different.

Sadie Quill is hunting for gold, in the hopes it will fund a Park dedicated to her deceased father, who began the search for the long-dead prospectors mine. Instead, she finds a naked man swimming in a lake smack in the middle of her hunting grounds. Discovering the identity of this medieval highlander in modern day Maine will complicate Sadie's search for both the gold and herself. A bit of magic, a bit of love and it's a wonderfully told tale.

Loving the Highlander
Focusing her camera on a distant lake, seeking evidence of a legendary gold mine, Sadie Quill is startled by the sight of a gorgeous man lying naked beside the water. She barely has time to recover when she's spotted and pursued by the stranger...who leaves her with a kiss and the promise they will meet again.
It is a promise Morgan MacKeage does not make lightly. A medieval highlander transported to modern Maine by a wizard's spell, he and his fellow warriors intend to re-establish their clan. For Morgan, Sadie is the key top fulfilling his personal destiny-the woman he was meant to love. But it will take more than strength to open her heart.

Janet Chapman is a modern day Wizard herself. Time travel, magic, alpha males, with accents ( to us Americans ) and old world ways and ideas but somehow more aware of a modern woman's needs than a modern man. Throw in the occasional villain or mystical creature. Romance, hot steamy sex.. And you have the Pine Creek Highlander series.
The only thing wrong with these books is the highlanders get old to fast and the books are to few... I have never devoured a series so fast.

I love this series by Janet Chapman so much that I'm working my way through it for the second time. I have vivid images running through my head as I read every page. The more vivid the images, the better the writer, IMHO.
