I have a load of magazines I wanted to mail out. Are magazines considered media mail. They have ads in the magazines.

No, magazines are cannot be sent via Media Mail.  Something about the advertisements.

Not advertising, that's a criteria for books.  Matter which was originally entered as Peroidicals (formerly Second Class) cannot be mailed as Media Mail.

No. My P.O. upcharges me to First Class or something else if they discover magazines are going as Media Mail. The rule book backs that up too.

Alas, this probably also means that magazines with no advertising (e.g., small small press fiction magazines) cannot be sent as Media Mail either.
