I really like using my Nook for magazines and newspapers. I don't currently have a subscription, but I like being able to pick up a current periodical whenever I feel like it. However, I also occasionally want to flip through the old issues. Once I by a new issue, the previous one disappears from my Nook, and I can't figure out how to get it back. I can see it in my library on B&N.com, it's not archived, but I can't retrieve it on my device. What gives? |

Sarah, I'm sorry to do this to you, but I can't get it to copy and paste -- for some reason I have trouble copying and pasting on PBS. If you go to the owner's manual at http://images.barnesandnoble.com/pimages/nook/download/User_Guide_NOOK_v1_5.pdf and then go to pp 106-108, it talks about managing your magazines, how they are archived, and how they are automatically deleted. Apparently there's a place where you can tap View Older Issues in your Archives, and these pages tell you how. This should also be in the manual that's on your Nook, but someone is borrowing my Nook tonight and I don't have it here in my hand. I hope this helps until someone else comes along. |

I really did RTFM, really and truly. And I am not a manual-reading kind of girl. I don't get the View Older Issues option. Thanks for confirming that I'm not crazy for expecting it to be there, I thought maybe I was just missing something obvious. Maybe time for a line to tech support. |

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to tell you RTFM. Honest. I find that the manual for the Nook is not friendly, which is why I pointed to the pages. I'm sorry nobody here has been able to help so far. I hope CS can help. Gaaa, I'm so embarrassed. I can't believe I did that to you. |

All my previous magazines are still there??? Do you have a nook or nook color? I have a nook color, maybe thats the difference, unless you have one too. |

Oh, Marilyn, if I didn't deserve it this time, I'll save it for when I do. Usually, I put everything together, discover 3 extra screws, and then crack open the directions. And the Nook manual is definitely not that useful, so it's nice to have others confirm that , no this is not normal, something is wrong. Tech support is seldom so merciful.
Wendy, it's a plain old Nook, not a color, but I don't see why that should matter. Was it a magazine you subscribed to, or single issues you purchased?

Just singles, maybe they are archived??? Do you know about this? I thought that books and magazines only got archived if you archived them yourself. I honestly didn't think things went away unless you actually deleted or archived them. Strange.

I have Show Archived selected, and I can see the two freebie books that I archived before. (I hate Little Women, and I've already read Dracula.) I think there is an auto-archive for magazines, but I should be able to un-archive somehow, right? When I select the periodical title, there is no option to show archived issues. |
