Is there any way to "Mail to a Friend" with Printable Postage a book that is not Posted on my Bookshelf?

I found that I can do this if the book is on my bookshelf.

I found that I can do this with DC, but not Printable Postage.

My problem came up when I was trying to unwind a WRONG book that was sent to me and wanted to forward on the the rightful requestor.  I am now in the habit of using the printable postage for all my mailings, but could not figure out how to do this.  I ended up Posting the book, but since this was a wish list book, the book instantly was requested.  Now I had a different problem to sort out.

So then I took a common Grisham book off my Posted Bookshelf and pretended to mail this one to a friend with printable postage.  I promptly reposted the Grisham Book and all is well.  But then I now ended up at the back of a really long FIFO line for this book so that was not smart.

Anyway, if there is no way to do this then so be it, but wondering if others have enjoyed the need for the same workaround.

The only way I know of to do it is to post a book you do not have, which also has no wish list, and use that to create the mail to a friend label.

basically, do this with a book you don't have that has a whole lot of copies in the system. perhaps go to Community/Top 50/Posted and find a book there that you don't have and use that ISBN number to post the book, then use 'mail to a friend' to get a wrapper to mail the book you really have.

I just did the dummy book thing for a WL book I had to send out for a game.  I happened to have 2 books on my shelf that I was sending out for another game. So I just used one of those and the Mail to a Friend Option.  But if that's not an option you could do what others suggested: pick a book that has a bunch of copies and use that or if you have the only copy of a book posted you can use that and then just repost the book.

It never occurred to me to use a dummy book until I saw someone mention it here.

Does Custom DC let you use printable postage?  I thought it did, but maybe I'm wrong.

Custom DC gives you DC only and does not let you do printable postage.  at least that's how it works right now.

What I wish you could do is when using the dummy book to mail to a friend,  is to be able to tag that order (not the book) with the correct title, so you can track it correctly.

Thanks Everyone.

I did do some searching and this subject came up a couple of times before.  Same result.

Best Workaround:

Post DUMMY Book (from Top 50 Posted) to make sure that book is not on WL

Mail to a Friend the DUMMY Book, with Printable Postage.

Track the DUMMY Book as the one you want to send.
