So, I declined to mail a book today, because the requestor had a non-smoking RC. I picked up this book elsewhere, so I can't promise it doesn't have smoke smell. When I declined the book, I checked and found there were two other members wishing the book, so I figured that it would automatically send a note to the next person on the list. But when I went to look at my inventory, it was gone!

???

Robin,

If you clicked Cannot Mail instead of Does Not Meet Requester Conditions, it will automatically remove it from your bookshelf.

I did that the other day.  You need to click on "Does not meet Requestor's conditions", instead of cannot mail.  If you click the cannot mail, you are saying you cannot mail the book to anyone, and therefore it is removed from your shelf.

You would need to post the book again, and the same person will pop up (since they are first in line).  Decline their RC.  Then you will be able to move on down the WL to the next person.

If the book is also on other wishlists ; doesn't it also stay invisable from the posted bookshelf while it is being offerred to the next in line? There is a little lag time for the notifications to be set up for both mrmbers.

If the book is still being offered to the next person on the Wish List, it would either be under the "Wish List Hold"tab on your account and you will see it on your bookshelf with the grey circle next to it (the current wisher has auto=no), OR it will only be shown on your bookshelf with the grey circle next to it for one hour until it shows up in the "Books Requested From Me" tab (the current wisher has auto=yes)

In both cases it is not visible to other people on your public bokshelf ... but you can see it in your own view of your bookshelf

It is always shown on your bookshelf unless you click on "cannot mail" in which case it is removed.

I've never seen a lag time. Do you mean the one hour buyer's remorse period?
