Someone mailed a book w/DC. The map shows the little mail truck at it's destination, but I haven't gotten the book. When I click on the little red dot it says "No information at this time."

So is the book at the P.O. or something? What should I do?

Thanks

The little truck isn't always right - it moves a certain amount each day and will be updates when the DC is scanned either at your post office or along the way.

Click on the "Details" button and see if the book has been scanned yet. It's a far more accurate picture that way. The little truck is really just an estimator. If the book is scanned, the lines are often adjusted for the positions en route.

For example, I had a package coming to me in OK from GA. The little truck was making a nice straight line to OK.... until the package was scanned in NY! Then it had a truck at NY and a new line coming to me from NY. :)

I don't think the truck even estimates sometimes, it goes wild and crazy and travels to the Bahamas everynow and then, takes a cruize in the Atlantic ocean when going between two land-locked states, goes several states away from where it's path should be. I never look at the truck, only the details button. That's the only place you get REAL information, ignore the truck, it's something for you to do while you are waiting, not someplace to go if you want information hahaha

Melanie, you can only see the truck if you or someone sending a book to you, has used PBS-DC, then you click the green arrow and the roaming PO Truck & map are there. Turn on your speakers and click the truck :)

Also, Rory, remember, even when it gets scanned for your town, that doesn't always mean it was scanned at your HOUSE. Some POs scan when it arrives in their building. It can then take them up to 10-14 days to get it to you.

The only time I go look at the truck is when I wanna honk the horn ;)

LOL I just looked at one of mine cause talking about it I had to honk the horn. The truck went missing. It was abducted by aliums.

LOL Chris!  I'm new and right after I requested my first book, I was at work, poking around the site.  I saw the cute little USPS truck and must have accidentally clicked on it--I nearly jumped out of my chair!  Wasn't expecting that honk!  lol

(Edited for typo)

I didn't know the horn honked!  Fun!

I have one that went past my town to the next major city south of me.  I'm assuming its going to turn around at some point and come back to me.

Update:

It came today! The reason I was wondering is 'cause I was getting the "Have you received this book?" emails and figured it was going to be marked lost soon.

Thanks for the help!
