Today was the first time I've used the "Mail to Friend" feature for a book on my bookshelf, and I'm a bit confused by how it's showing up in my account. I understand why it's in under "Books I've Mailed", but there's also an entry under "En Route to Me" (even though I am mailing the book to my friend directly, since I have it). Can I mark that entry as "Book received", or should I wait until my friend tells me he got the book?

Any advice/guidance would be appreciated.

I think you're supposed to ask your friend to let you know when it gets there, then mark it received.  There was a thread a while back about someone who mailed a book to a friend, but the friend waited over a week to let the requester know it had been received, and the sender was ticked at the requester, when it really was the friend's fault.  Anyway, make sure your friend knows it's very important to inform you soon after the book is received so the sender can get her credit.

Right, I did that (wrote a little note on the PBS info sheet), but I am the sender. It was a book on my bookshelf, and I'm personally sending it. I just used the "Mail to Friend" feature to use PBS postage. The friend isn't a PBS member, so I'm pretty sure I'm not getting a credit for this - I'm just confused as to why it's showing up the way it is.

Yes, it shows up as coming to you until you mark it received.   You can either wait until your friend received it or go ahead and mark it now as received.  Since there is not tracking or credits involved the timing isn't crucial.

Okie dokie, thanks muchly - I'll just wait until he tells me he got it. It was just displayed confusingly IMHO. I mean, is there a reason for it to be displayed at all, if you're sending it from your own bookshelf? I can understand displaying it for if you ordered a book from another member for a friend, but not from using the "Mail to Friend" button from your bookshelf.
