If you enjoy the variety of designs of Quilt patterns, but would rather knit or crochet, you'll enjoy this collection of patterns incorporating both "styles". Collection of 36 patterns for variety of knitted or crocheted Afghans, "Lap Robes", and Baby blankets. The back of the book has Black and White "block motifs" you can use for better placement of stitch techniques, colorways, and understanding of the various patterns. Most of the designs motifs can be done as crochet or knit blocks, made individually "as you go", and joined later.

A nice added attraction includes instructions for surface embroidery, such as "Duplicate Stitch" in knitting and embroidery for crochet as both part of overall design and "quilt" enhancements.

The designs for Crochet include: Bridal Wreath, Dresden Plates, Wedding Ring, Mosaic, North Carolina Lily, Broken Dishes, Storm at Sea, Grandmother's Fan, Rose of Sharon, Clamshell, Baby's Flower Garden and more.

The designs for knitting include: Tree Of Life, Tulips, Flying Geese, Shoofly, Log Cabin, Baskets, Hatchet, Double Irish Chain, Baby Blocks, Nine Patch, Homestead, and more. Because you're working primarily in "blocks" most designs can be interchanged for knit or crochet.

Good detail, patterns are clear and easy to read, with line-drawn illustrations for detail. Has nice center section containing color photos, although the instruction sections include only Black & White photos.
