Replying to his letter, Gandhiji had written to him, "You must observe Brahmacharya, a vow to analytical truth, take to constructive physical work. Do not exert to add to your literacy, let it take its own course. To me, strengthening of character is 'The Duty.' Subscribe to poverty with purity...consider fearless confrontation against injustice."
He was asked to consider joining Phoenix Ashram only if he could adopt the advice given to him. Raojibhai went to stay with Gandhiji at Phoenix Ashram in 1912.
In a letter to Raojibhai from Johanesburg Gandhiji wrote, "there seems to be some mutual indebtedness due between us since our previous birth! In what way do I deserve so much affection from you? I cannot describe my appreciation of the affectionate feelings you gave me in my crisis. I pray that the souls of both of you will be enlightened, and in turn, wish me that the experience of your love may further consolidate my faith in the strength of the soul."
This book was read by Gandhiji and has gone through his scrutiny.
Raojibhai breathed his last on Jan. 20, 1962.« less
