Sherrilyn Kenyon's short story was a first for me and I loved it (4 1/2). Maggie Shayne's story was also very good(4). Suzanne Forster's was good, I just didn't see how it belonged in the anthology as the other three were all paranormal(3 1/2). Virginia Kantra's book was not my cup of tea, but it wasn't bad either(3). Overall I gave the book 3 1/2 stars, that's about the averagerating of all four stories.

This book was so good I couldn't put it down,I think I read it in less than one day. I wish some of the stories had been a little longer but I can't complain. Sherrilyn Kenyon and Maggie Shayne are 2 of my favorite authors so will probably look for more books like this one. Really good read.

I enjoyed this book. Fire and Ice by S. Kenyon is a spinoff novella from her League book Born of Night about Adron, son of Nykyrian and Kira from Born of Night who is drowning his sorrows in a bar when Livia chooses him to take her virginity in order to avoid marriage to an old lecher. In order to save her from her furious father the morning after, he declares her his wife. In Shocking Lucy by Suzanne Forster Lucy's fiance of 4 years sets her up to be seduced by an old friend from college to prove that she really doesn't love him--she just wants to be married to a 'safe, respectable man'. Noah and Lucy get it on and when she finds out about the scheme, well.... Noah is an electrician and he wins her back by broadcasting his love on a billboard. A really sweet love story.
In Daydream Believer by Maggie Shayne Megan who is psychic must convince Sam a detective working a case of a serial killer that she is for real. Another good story. I wasn't too impressed with V. Kantra's story about Ross and Janet who had a history before Ross was captured by the Sidhe and held as a sex slave for 15 years. Janet saves Ross and breaks the curse. This story was just not my thing.
This was a great book! Includes Fire and Ice by Sherrilyn Kenyon, Daydream Believer by Maggie Shayne, Shocking Lucy by Suzanne Forster, and Midsummer Night's Magic by Virginia Kantra. All four stories are fabulous!
I love anthologies because they expose you to new authors. I enjoyed this anthology very much because it is paranormal romance - no vamps or werewolves though. Kenyon's story is more of an alternate universe type story along the sci-fi/fantasy genre. Shayne's story is of a woman who has visions and meets with a cop to solve a murder mystery. Forster's story has no supernatural aspects at all and I did not like this one as much as the others. Kantra's story has faerie elements and a long lost love. I really enjoyed all the stories with the exception of Forster's, hers was just okay.
Four novellas by popular authors in the science fiction/urban fantasy genre.
Sherrilyn Kenyon: Livia is promised to an 82 year old lech. He won't want her if she isn't a virgin. Her father will be mad as hell, but she heads out to get a man to make her unwanted. How she overcomes her problems and finds the man of her dreams is touching and delightful.
Maggie Shayne: A psychic needs someone to believe in her. The man of her dreams is a detective who finally fulfills her needs, but not before she saves him from a curse.
Suzanne Forester: Meets the Man of Her Dreams a few weeks before her wedding. Will her eyes be opened or not? It is amazing who gives fate a hand.
Virginia Kantra: Straightlaced librarian, Janet lost her love 14 years ago. Now on a dark night she finds the man of her dreams is caught in the net of a fairy queen. But if he is the man of her dreams does that mean she is the woman of his dreams?
