This is an amazing book with beautiful pictures. Not much to read though because the book is full of vivid and outstanding photographs. However, it does tell some basics facts about the cute creatures.

Inside cover: "The Manatee is one of nature's strangest looking creatures. Sausage shaped with a paddle-like tail, manatees are shy, curious marine mammals whose favorite activities are eating, sleeping and playing. They've long intrigued us with their gentle demeanor, friendly brown eyes, and whiskey faces.
The best collection of photographs taken of these humble vegetarians, this book is the perfect introduction to a reclusive and endangered species. From amusing portraits of manatees performing barrel rolls to endearing photographs of mothers and calves to close-ups of manatees affectionately nuzzling, this book captures all the creatures' mystery and grace as they swim leisurely, sleep, raise their young, and blithely entertain themselves.
Today a battle is being waged to save the manatee from extinction. If a picture is worth a thousand words, this book eloquently reveals the spectacular uniqueness of the great sea cow."
