I expected more based on ratings and reviews. Plot pretty thin.

I agree with all the reviews! Yep--the plot is pretty thin. Yep--the book basically moves from one sex scene to another. And yep--it was FUNNY!

Laurentson writes some GREAT alpha-female characters who take no garbage off their men & sling wicked-funny comments. Plus she includes fun alpha-males who manage to dominate & possess their women, but without being creepy-abusive-stalker about it.

All in all I enjoyed her writing immensely. A great "fluff" read...not worth keeping & reading again, mind you...but perfect one-time escapism.

This is the cutest book. It can be a bit crude and there is a fair amount of sex but it made me laugh out loud and I usually hate funny romance novels. This was a good one. Hope they are all like this.

Christmas Pride is about Desiree "Dez" MacDermot, human, meeting a long lost friend Mace Llewellyn, Lion, that is home from the Navy. He has been in love with Dez since grade school and when she moved Mace was devastated and has not seen her since them. Comeing home from the Navy, he goes to his sisters' Pride home and find out there was a killing and he just walks in the door and instantly becomes aware of a scent he hasn't smelled in over 10+ years. Standing by a window is the one female he ever wanted to be with Desiree. Mace's military buddy and future business partner is Bobby Ray Smith. Bobby Ray will help out Mace any way he can.

Bobby Ray, Sissy Mae, and Ronnie Lee are introduced in this book.

Shaw's Tail is Brandon Shaw, Lion, ( Ex Llewellyn Pride Male) Owner of a New York Shiftier friendly Hotel. Meets the southern lady Ronnie Lee Reed, best friend to Sissy Mae and her second in the work pack.

Yep, I agree with other reviews - there isn't much depth to Laurenston's Pride series... but to borrow another reviewers words, it is wickedly funny! Her writing style is solid and consistent throughout the stories. I usually get my hackles up when writers promote stereotypes of Southern characters, however, there is so much humor from one scene to the next, the author manages to soothe me over her wolf pack.

I give it 5 stars because I can't think of a reason to remove any. The lack of plot doesn't detract for me at all, it kept me engaged and entertained from start to finish, the sex made me fan myself a bit, I was satisfied at the end of each story, and I can't wait to grab the next one. It's an excellent choice for a light read. Yes, there is a lot of sex. If that's not your cup of tea, skip this series. For the rest of us - enjoy!
