A strange disease has overtaken New York City. The hospital is overwhelmed with people vomitting copious quantities of blood and then dying. Dr. Frank Winter is the doctor on call when the first patient is admitted so he has a vested interest in the outcome. In his quest for the cause, he encounters Jenica of Romanian descent. In another part of town, Harry Erskine, a psychic visionary, is also encountering strange phenomena and in his flight, encounters Gil Johnson, an ex-national guardsman. The four of them work together to uncover the cause of the epidemic and the solution.

This novel is not for the feint of heart. It is extremely gorey and gruesome. Vampires take over New York City and the fight is particularly bloody. A slow start but eventually it catches your interest just to know how the hell the win the day when everything is stacked against them.

This book was a fast read . The ending kinda felt like it was slapped together. I did order another book from this author.

I like the concept of Vampire being a sort of STD. Has some new twists to the usual vampire book .

A vampire plague, some malevolent dead, a gastroenterologist, a street mime, a hack Tarot card reader and his Sioux spirit guide grapple for sanity and safe streets in New York City. Oh, yeah, there's a sexy vampire hunter, cops, ER docs, and more! Sequel to Masterton's The Manitou. Sex, blood, and the occasional nonsensical New Agey riff.
