3/1/11 20 Minutes Denise Austin 3 Week Boot Camp(Cardio segment)

12 minutes- Denise Austin's Boot Camp Total Body Blast: Flexibility Segment (it's 10 minutes long, but I did part the last 2 minutes twice to stretch out my wrists and my back a bit more).
3/2/11 No workout
3/3/11 No workout
3/4/11 54 minutes- Walked while watching a show on DVD (187 calories according to my watch)
3/5/11 No workout
3/6/11 30 minutes- Level 2 of Jillian Michaels 6 Week Six-Pack: I used 5 lb weights- It started off "slow" and I thought WOW I can do this! Then at the 8 minute mark I was DYING and had to stop to go get water! :-P I made it all the way through, but had to take a slow at some parts. I don't know if I'm ready to do this one regularly quite yet, but I'm glad I gave it a try! :-)
3/7/11 No workout
3/8/11 15 minutes- Denise Austin Blast Away the Pounds Indoor Walk- segment 1: Easy Walk (15 minute mile)

15 minutes- Denise Austin Blast Away the Pounds Indoor Walk- segment 3: Power Walk and Tone (15 minute mile)- used 5 lbs weights

15 minutes- Denise Austin Blast Away the Pounds Indoor Walk- segment 2: Fat Blasting Interval Walk (15 minute mile)
3/9/11 20 minutes- Level 2 of Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred (used 5 lb weights)- Took my time since I haven't done Level 2 since at least the summer and I didn't remember the moves, so I figured form was more important on this go-around.

10 minutes Denise Austin's Best Belly Fat-Blasters (3rd segment- Hit the Spot Pilates Abs & Waistline)
3/10/11

20 Minutes Denise Austin 3 Week Boot Camp(Cardio segment)

20 Minutes Denise Austin 3 Week Boot Camp Kettle bell Inspired Strength segment- used 8 lbs hand weights for most of the workout, had to switch to 5 lbs for one move towards the end)

Man, I can feel my thigh muscles today after Level 2 Shred yesterday!! :-P

3/11/11 No workout
3/12/11 30 minutes- Level 2 of Jillian Michaels 6 Week Six-Pack: I used 5 lb weights- I made it through the first circuit, about 17  minutes, before I needed to stop to get water.  That's better than I did on Sunday when I tried Level 2 the first time! :-P
3/13/11 10 minutes- walk w/ my husband to get ice cream (I guess not the best reason to take a walk when trying to lose weight, lol)

10 minutes Denise Austin's Best Belly Fat-Blasters (2nd segment- Power Zone Abs)

7 minutes SparkPeople 10-Minute Jump Start Cardio Workout Video (Coach Nicole) (only did 7 minutes worth because that's all I had time for, couldn't do the last 3 because I had somewhere to go- but I figured some workout is better than no workout, especially with the week I'm scheduled to have)!
3/14/11 54 minutes- walked while watching a DVD (189 calories burned)
3/15/11 No workout
3/16/11 54 minutes- walked while watching a DVD (188 calories burned)
3/17/11 No workout
3/18/11 No workout
3/19/11 20 minutes- Denise Austin's Boot Camp Total Body Blast: Strength Boot Camp- 5 lb weights

10 minutes- Denise Austin's Boot Camp Total Body Blast: Flexibility Segment
3/20/11 40 minutes- Jillian Michael's Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism (I just bought this, so I wanted to try it right away, and boy did it make me sweat! What I liked about it is that I was sweating, I could feel my heart racing, but I didn't feel so winded that I couldn't keep going, and that will keep me coming back for more).
3/21/11 55 minutes- walked while watching a DVD (192 calories according to my watch)
3/22/11 54 minutes- walked while watching a DVD (189 calories according to my watch)
3/23/11 No workout
3/24/11 20 Minutes Denise Austin 3 Week Boot Camp(Cardio segment)

10 minutes Denise Austin's Best Belly Fat-Blasters (2nd Hit the Spot Pilates segment- forgot which # it is on the DVD)
3/25/11 15 minutes- Denise Austin Blast Away the Pounds Indoor Walk- segment 2: Fat Blasting Interval Walk (15 minute mile)

10 minutes Denise Austin's Personal Training System Medium Upper Body (alternated between 5 and 8 lbs weights depending on the move)

10 minutes Denise Austin's Personal Training System Stretch segment
3/26/11 20 minutes Denise Austin's Personal Training System High Intensity aerobics (I have written down that when I tried this one last year it wasn't challenging & I haven't done it since...I must not have been doing it right then because this really did get the heart rate up & I feel it in my arms!)

10 minutes Denise Austin's Personal Training System- abs
3/27/11 40 minutes- Jillian Michael's Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism
3/28/11 No workout
3/29/11 No workout
3/30/11 20 minutes Denise Austin's Personal Training System High Intensity aerobics (it didn't feel as tough to do this workout this time, perhaps because on Saturday I had worked out the past few days beforehand, but today was the first workout after 2 days off...)

10 minutes Denise Austin's Personal Training System- abs
3/31/11 45 minutes of Fit Club at work (this was our first day working out together, so there was lots of stopping to demonstrate technique, but when we did get a few straight bursts of working out, I could feel my heart racing, so I can only imagine what it will be like next Tuesday when we really get going)!

My goal this month was to workout more days than not! smiley

End of month result- 11 days no workout; 20 days working out! YAY! smiley

Stephanie - Have we asked you what type of dog you have?  I miss walking with my dog.  I used to read while he led me down the road.  Everyone thought that was funny to see.

Its been a great start to the month.  Here are a couple quotes to keep us going-

Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there.

Will Rogers

I'm a week late but I'd like to jump in if nobody minds! :D If I have to fess up that I missed a workout I'll be sooo much more inclined to do it. Hahah

I use the xbox sports active game as the overall main program and try to do extra things were I think it kind of lacks in order to meet the goals.

March 6th: 40 min. Full body workout, burned estimated 203 cal.

Welcome Ginger.  It definitely has helped me to have to write it down.  I usually use exercise tv on demand.  My goal is to increase the amount of time I am exercising.

My doggie is a 101 lb Chocolate Lab. Her name is Greta. We got her last summer from a lab rescue. She's about 6 or 7 years old. She decided she was my dog last fall. Because she's so big she can handle the long walks. Her fav is when I take her to a local wooded area with paths. When its warmer I will take a 15 ft leash and let her swim in the creek. She and are are both happy that Spring is slowly coming to Indiana.

Welcome Ginger!!

Stephanie

sounds like a great dog.  Sounds like fun walking with her.  I agree I am ready for some nice weather to walk outside.  It was a nice day up here in NH but working nights by the time I get up it starts getting cool.

Hi Nicole Welcome!

Do you have cable?  I get exercise tv on demand and I think I did a Jillian Michaels Kettlebell workout.  It was only 25 minutes, but fun.

I am definitely not working hard enough.  My husband challenged me on our exercise bike.  I did 6.5 miles yesterday- he did 9.3.  Today I tried really hard and did 8.4- he did 9.5.  He is making me work harder!!!  Did you hear that mom- He did the bike two nights in a row- amazing.

I only have basic cable but I should be getting the Jillian kettlebell workout from Amazon tomorrow. I am so excited! I also have her 30 days shred dvd but I haven't tried it yet. I started out with walking (and my legs are killing me) and hope to start incoporating the dvds in this weekend. Both my hubby and I have a ways to go to get back to where we once were but are determined to get there. Although I know if he pushes himself he could be there in a few months easily. After only a few days of dieting and working out I am already feeling much better about myself and the only thing I really miss is my Dr. Pepper!

Welcome, Nicole! :-)  Jillian's 30 Day Shred is amazing!  In 20 minutes she really packs a punch!  I started level 2 for the first time since at least this past summer (I had gotten to level 2 and even attempted level 3 at that time, but then I stagnated in the workout sphere once the summer was over).  Level 2 was a killer, and I thought I was in shape after working out consistently since January, lol.  Her 6 Week Six-Pack is also very good for a slightly longer workout.

welcome Nicole, I too have kettle bells and didn't like the video that came with it.  It was mainly insturctional and not an actual work out.  My daughter taped me one from tv that I use.  One part I can't do at all but most of it is fun.

Great Job Angela getting Rich on the bike.

Well I did the Jillian Michael kettlebell workout this morning and decided that she is trying to kill me! smiley Wow, crazy workout. I ended up having to switch from my 10lb bell to 3lb handweights halfway through. I probably need another week before I can use the 10lb kettlebell the whole time.

Ah, to be able to lose weight like a man! My hubby weighed himself last night and has dropped more than twice the amount of weight I have. My father went to his cardiologist yesterday and since the beginning of Febraury has lost 23lbs (has been eating fairly healthy and has only been really trying hard and starting to work-out the last 3 weeks or so)!! So proud of them both but still makes a girl wee bit jealous.

I know what you mean.  Men do seem to lose weight faster than us.

Men lose weights so fast because it is so easy for them to build muscle. When my hubby started lifting weights years ago the fat just melted off. It takes me a month of cardio to lose 1 lb. UGH

just checking to see what this thread is about..........i just started my exercise routine after a few years of being sluggish...

i like the concept of writing it down........

i am using my iphone app of pedometer...........it keeps a daily total and then a weekly total....

but the writing down seems good........i will be able to see it all of the time..........

Hi Yvonne,

Welcome.  That is exactly what this thead is for- to write it down.  Knowing that someone else is seeing what your doing helps to encourage me to get off that couch!  Are you walking for exercise?  I hope to start walking outside once the snow and ice go away.
