When I read in the "What are you reading this week?" thread that Marianne Stillings' publisher dropped her last fall, I was pretty bummed.   I just read her Darling paranormal romantic suspense trilogy earlier this year and loved all three books.   So I sent her a quick e-mail to let her know that - just yesterday.   Well, she replied already!    And since her website/blog hasn't been updated since last fall, I thought I would share her e-mail to me:

Thank you so much for your wonderful note! I'm flattered more than I can say that I'm the first author you've emailed; thank you again.

As for Avon dropping me, my comment on that is always that these things happen. It was disappointing, but I'm very appreciative that Avon gave me a shot and published my first six books. I'm very lucky and have no complaints. My Achilles tendon has healed nicely and while I walk with a slight limp, that should disappear over time as the ankle gets stronger. Life can really throw you some curves, can't it?

I do have a very promising proposal out to Harlequin right now and am keeping my fingers crossed for good news very soon. I can hardly wait to update my website with the publication date of my next book. Your email reminds me I need to update my blog; I've been so busy what with one thing and another, that I'm way behind on that.

Thanks again, Lynne. I appreciate your kind and encouraging email more than I can say. Without a publisher, it's support from readers such as yourself that keep me going.

Marianne

Doesn't she sound like a nice woman?   I'm crossing my fingers for her that the Harlequin deal goes through.

She does sound nice! I also hope her deal goes through. I enjoyed the books of hers that I have read so far.

Oh good! I'm glad she is still writing and hopes that Harlequin will sign her on :) I have all her books on my keeper shelf!

Oh I love Marianne Stillings and was wondering why she hasn't released another book.  I wonder if we can email Harlequin and beg them to sign her up.  The only one of hers I haven't read yet is Killer Charms and I have it in my TBR.

The Damsel in this Dress if one of my all time favorite books.  I just love the back and forth between the H/H.

I enjoyed her books, hope she gets the new contract.

I wonder if it would be helpful to try to spread some buzz on the romance interwebs? Get people talking about her?

I chose The Damsel in this Dress and I am laughing my butt off. I have tears in my eyes from laughing at the part where they had to partner up to right up a scene, it was absolutely hilarious! If you like Susan Donvovan or Christie Craig then you will really like this book. I even read the scene to my hubby and even he was laughing.

Damsel is one of my few keepers. The dialogue between the H/H is just hysterical.

And what a great name for the hero J. Soldier McKennet.

And the Darlings!

I liked the one where she was a cook - satisfaction guaranteed I think is the title. I think my least fave was the one w ith the woman doctor who had a thing about dating cops..afraid they'd die or something but even that was good. the last one was a little darker I thought but it was still good. I like Stillings - even her 'bad' stuff is still good!
