What a fascinating book! The author's attention to detail and historical research is incredible. I kept thinking what a wonderful audio book this would make. I hope the publisher recognizes how intriguing it all is. I found myself reading a couple of chapters and thinking about them for awhile before I could move on. This happened many times!

Yes, the story is familiar but this author sheds new light on who Marie Antoinette was and how she changed as the years passed. He begins writing about her life from just prior to her marriage until the French Revolution changed everything. Of course, we all know what happened to her and her husband, King Louis XVI. The author believes that they were just two common people cast into uncommon lives. If you like history, this is wonderful read that I simply must recommend.
