I just read a short story by Liu in the Hotter Than Hell collection that I really liked. It is titled Minotaur in Stone if anyone is interested. Anyway I really liked it but have never read anything else by this author. She seems to have several (short and long) series running. Anyone want to suggest a good starting point with her work? Any series a lot better then another? Her short story was very different from the normal vamp-werewolf romance stuff. I am hoping her regular works are similary different.

I loved that story too :) I recommend the "Wild Things" anthology, her story in there is great- and "The Iron Hunt" follows that story. Iron Hunt was one of my favorite paranormals/urban fantasies this year, just don't expect romance! Her Dirk & Steele books are very popular and just all-around awesome, the first being Tiger Eye- http://www.paperbackswap.com/book/details/9780505526267-Tiger+Eye+Dirk+Steele+Bk+1

I'm another fan of her Dirk & Steele books.  I highly recommend reading them!

I love ALL of her books.  Her Dirk and Steele series is more mystery/paranormal/romance, and the Iron Hunt was more paranormal less romance.  I have read all of her books and haven't been let down yet.  Another good author and my personal favorite right now is J.R. Ward!
