Mark Newman is a British physicist and Paul A. M. Dirac Professor of Physics at the University of Michigan, as well as an external faculty member of the Santa Fe Institute. He is known for his research on the structure and function of networks such as social networks and information networks, and particularly for work on assortative mixing and community structure in networks.
