I just received a book that the pages are loose in the front and the binding is starting to seperate. The first 65 pages are coming away from the binding at the bottom.Should I mark received with a problem? I hardly ever do that but I am just getting tired of getting books that should be unpostables. Would you mark it received with a problem and ask for your credit back?

Edited for spelling and so it would make more sense. lol

OK. Thank you. I just feel like a meanie for asking for it back but I'm pretty sure that it's going to fall apart as soon as one of my kids starts to read it. Time to get out the glue and tape!

Off to mark it!

If you don't mark it RWP then the person never gets tracked by PBS. What if they are sending lots of these out and nobody marks them? Then they just get to keep it up and lots of people suffer. Even if you don't ask for your credit back (which I would) at the least mark it RWP so that their account has that on the record, and if they send out too many R&R can take the issue with them.

I marked it and asked for my credit back. Hopefully they will respond. Maybe it was a just a mistake...... I have decided not to accept any more damaged books. I had one that had Kool Aid stains all over it. No more! I'm taking a stand. lol

I know it feels mean to mark RWAP - but it's really the right thing to do.  Imagine if this person is constantly sending bad books out to others!  R&R need to know this stuff so they can deal with it.

I'd mark it RWP and ask for my credit back.

I marled ir RWP and asked for my credit. It seems he is a new member and can't give the credit back to me until he has earned 2 credits of his own. Is that right? I felt kinda bad when I learned he was new but then I read the posting rules when I joined and he should have, too. I think I will send another PM at the end of the week to remind him about my credit. lol

Thanks so much for your help everyone!

Ummmm .... isn't he supposed to return the credit that hit his account as soon as you marked the book RWP?

I know they added that "return credit button" to the transactions archive, and I wonder if it is on newmems accounts also? I think that may have been one of the incentives for it if so, but I don't know for sure if it's there. I'll see if I can find a new mem and ask! hahaha

Well, I had him add me to his BL before I knew about the button and told him how to give my credit back. I think I'll be sending another PM to remind him to give it back.

Thanks everyone!!!

I just checked the Help docs to be sure, but he can't Buddy you a credit until he receives 2 books.  He needs to go into his transaction archive and use the "Give Refund" button.  (assuming he has one, of course...)

What I'm trying to say is, if you send him another pm, make sure you tell him he needs to use his transaction archive and not his BL.  It won't do any good to remind him to Buddy you a credit if he can't do so.

I got my credit back! YEA! I guess I will just have to break down and by this book new. It was  WL that I had tried to get before but timed out and then now I get it and it's not going to stand up to one of my kids reading it.

Thanks so much to everyone for helping me!!!

You can send R&R a request to put you back to #1 on the WL. I did that when I got an icky WL book and they did it for me.
