I just signed up and would like to post some books...  Does anyone know if you can post a book that might have a few markings such as an underlined sentence throughout the book or something very minor like that?

I'd suggest you peruse the help center. The book posting guidelines are there. http://www.paperbackswap.com/help/help_index.php

But to answer your question: No. Highlighting and underlining are prohibited unless the book is a textbook. If it is a textbook, you must PM the person before sending it to make sure they are aware and still want it.

Welcome to PBS Christa!

Definately read the posting conditions and guidelines.  Generally, writing on text pages renders a book unpostable.  Some writing may appear on the fly or inside covers, and there are specific waivers for textbooks if the required procedure is used.  Otherwise unpostable books may be listed in the Book Bazar forum as freebies or for a credit, but must not be posted into FIFO.
