Mary Anderson is the author of 29 books for young people published by Atheneum, Four Winds, Delacorte, Avon, Dell, and Harcourt. She is a Sequoia Book Award nominee, a Dorothy Canfield Fisher Award nominee, a South Carolina Young Adult Book Award nominee, an American Library Association Best Book of the Year nominee, and three of her books have been included in the New York Public Library's list of Best Books of the Year. She has taught for Teachers and Writers Collaborative and for the Women's Writing Guild at Skidmore College.
Personal Life
Mary Anderson has three daughters and 6 grandchildren. She has lived her entire life on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. She currently teaches writing at Gotham Writer's Workshop and does freelance editing. She has also run her own craft business, and has her own website for her decoupage under glass, www.marynell.com
