The Enterprise journeys to Lorca, a beautiful world with a feudal culture where the inhabitants wear masks to show their rank and station. There, Captain Picard and an away team don masks of their own to being a quest for the planet's ruler and the great Wisdom Mask tha tthe leader traditionally wears. Their mission: to establish diplomatic relations.

This is one of my Star Trek (Next Generation) paperback. The story is written so well (all of Mr Vornholt's books are well written) that his readers may believe that they are in the middle of the action!!! When a security officer was killed at the end, I felt a sadness and wish that she would have lived...
