This is a good read! This is a historical reconstruction of the massacre of Mormon settlers at Salt Creek. This is a novel because there were no survivors of this massacre. As a non-Mormon I found Blaine Yorgason's account of this massacre very interesting. One of the main character's has 2 wives, which causes him a few problems.

I think his assumptions of what may have happened are historically accurate. One grave mistake the Mormons made was sending these settlers into unfriendly Indian country with out weapons or armed soldiers.

If you like Blaine Yorgason, try reading Tattered Angel which i also have listed. This is a true story of how his wife and he adopted a handicapped child. It is also an excellent read!
