Two novellas by the master. Although not 87th Precinct, Driving Lessons is close. A student driver, out with her instructor, hits and kills a pedestrian the instructors wife. Tragic accident or something else? It is up to Detective Katie Logan to figure it out. Petals is both an espionage story and a love story. Set in Europe in the turbulent seventies, deep cover agent Michael Henderson must determine if his new girlfriend is, in fact, the assassin he is seeking. Ed McBain were sure going to miss him.
