I have an 11.25 oz pkg ready to go.  The label says media mail, & the media mail price (according to USPS & PBS) is $2.38.  I put the correct postage on the package using 5 forever stamps along with a couple of odd priced stamps.  Then I noticed the "first class" marking on the forever stamps, so I'm wondering if I can't use them on my media mail package.  I'm positive I've used them on other media mail packages, but I don't want to do anything against USPS rules.  Do I have to bump my postage up to the first class price (which is $3.09)??

No, you can use the Forever stamps for media mail.  I do it frequently and have never had a problem when blueboxing items or when I've taken them in and had the clerks double check the postage for me.
