Can anyone tell me why PBS doesn't offer a First Class mailing label with proper postage shown when the book weighs less than 7 oz. I have received books that show postage at less than 2.69. How do I send a book First Class without going to the PO? June |

How to mail a First Class package without going to the Post Office 1. Weigh the package. 2. Add stamps or buy electronic postage online. 3. Put in mailbox or blue box

Did this change? Thought I heard PBS would choose the cheapest rate automatically, therefore books under 7 oz are printed as First Class labels? |

They do provide automatically choose the correct rate. If you are using printable postage, the USPS gives a discount, so First Class is cheaper for less than 7 oz. If you are not using printable postage but instead using your own stamps or going to the USPS counter, then First Class is cheaper for less than 5 oz. There is no way to print a label from PBS for a First Class package greater than 5 oz unless you purchase postage here. Starting with next month's rate change, the dividing lines move to 8 oz and 4 oz. |

You can always purchase the postage from paypal.com/shipnow if PBS does not meet your needs. PBS charges a bunch of extra fees (in exchange for some benefits). |
