This is a basic murder mystery with a tie to the past...the past events are intermingled with the present to fit together the pieces of the puzzle. I'm from Baton Rouge so I enjoyed it. It's set in and near Baton Rouge.

Alan Graham probes the past. As the head of Moundmasters, a Baton Rouge based contract archaeology firm, the historian butts heads with developers who want to recklessly rip apart Louisiana's landscape for their own greedy purposes. Now he joins forces the the lovely Pepper Courtney to work on the exploration of decaying Desiree Plantation. What they find leads them to the mystery of the death of Lewis Meriweather of explorer fame. Alaln Graham hopes that the clues from the past will stop a contemporary killer.
