I am looking for books that have to do with Middle School.  I teach Reading and Writing and am looking for a book that would be helpful with Differentiated Instruction for that age group.  Anyone have any ideas??  THANKS!

I just finished a three day class on it!  The workshop was led by Ellen Arnold, she was amazing.  Here is her website.

I don't own any of the books, but we were able to look through them this week.  The one that would probably work best for you, and I think I might order myself is "The MI Strategy Bank".(There is a 1998 version of this book, but it has been updated, maybe in 2007, not sure though.)

She's really friendly too, and I would think you could email her yourself and ask her to recommend you a book.  Just tell her you had a friend that took her workshop.  She is really fabulous!

What grade do you teach?  I am a reading specialist for 3rd and 4th grades.

Also, it seems that one of the largest conferences in the country on differentiated instruction is held every summer in Las Vegas.  We had a good chuckle over that during the workshop.  I am in Pennsylvania and it is VERY funny to think of our school sending us all the way to Las Vegas.  LOL
