I'm looking for a new series to start reading while on the WL for other books. Has anyone read the Midnight Breed series by Lara Adrian? (Book 1 is Kiss of Midnight.) Did you like it?

If anyone has suggestions about other good series in the vamp or paranormal genre, that would be great too.

Some of the series I've read and liked: Sookie Stackhouse, Mercy Thompson, the Hollows, Black Dagger Brotherhood, Immortals After Dark. I've read the first book in the Night Huntress series and didn't like it as much, although I'll probably read the rest. I'm on the WL for the first Kate Daniels title (only 50 more weeks!).

I read the first Cassandra Palmer book and was apalled by the horrid writing. I used to love Anita Blake until the books stopping having plots. I'm all for erotic scenes, but they need to be carried along by a bit of story as well.

What about the Dark Hunters and Dream Hunters...Sherrilyn Kenyon.

I saw the Sherrilyn Kenyon thread and was going to take a look at those. Thanks for the suggestion, since it looks like there are lots of titles in those series. I read on the bus commuting, so I tend to go through books very quickly. Having lots available of something I end up liking is a definite bonus.

I really like Lara Adrian's books...in fact they quickly replaced the black dagger brotherhood books in my mind.

I too have read the Lara Adrian Midnight Breed series and liked it a lot.  They are all on my keeper shelf along with the Blackdagger Brotherhood series and Larrissa Ione's series as well.  Give them a try...they are good.

I am new at paranormal but I just love the Gerry Bartlett series.  Although I have only read one book, it was good.

i've read the first two Midnight Breed books, and while i felt the first one was so-so (but definitely required reading to set up the world and a lot of the characters), i liked the second one much better.

I've read all the Midnight Breed books and absolutely loved them.  I much prefer them to Black Dagger Brotherhood.

Huh.  I found the first two okay, but nothing to write home about.  I think I was giving them bonus points for liking the location.  The third one was really slow, and since then I've lost interest.
