The book picks up four years after the first one, "The Cellar", it continues with one of the main characters. I really liked this book, if you can handle violence, sex, monsters, and humor check this book out!

**Be sure to read The Cellar and Beast House BEFORE reading this book, or you will be lost.**

In the small California town of Malcasa Point lies an old Victorian style house that is known as The Beast House and It has a dark and murderous history. For over ninety years people who have dared enter inside its walls at night have usually been found horribly mutilated the next day. The locals say that they met their gruesome end at the hands of the Beast and on certain nights they say your can hear its evil laugh coming from the house.

Tourists have flocked to Beast House for years. They take an audio tour of the house going from room to room looking at grotesque wax figures of the victims The Beast claimed. There is also another tour that happens every Saturday night. It is called the Midnight Tour, and those who take it gets the no hold barred information about The Beast. They get to go to the parts of the house were the most gruesome events took place. Some say that The Beast still roams the house at night, and for one unlucky Midnight Tour group they will find out first hand that The Beast is more than just a legend.

The Midnight Tour is the third installment in the Beast House Chronicles (Friday Night In Beast House is the 4th and sadly, last) and after reading it I can say that is my favorite. I loved the first two books but this is by far the best of the bunch. It drew me in on the first page and kept me hooked the whole ride. Richard Laymon has become one of my favorite Horror writers because of books like Midnight Tour. I devoured this book within two days consumed in the dark and twisted world Mr. Laymon created. Midnight Tour is loaded with sex, gore, and nonstop action. I especially enjoyed the characters in Midnight Tour. Mr. Laymon introduces you to a bunch of new characters, but he also brings back a few from the previous installments. Midnight Tours takes place many years after Beast House but you will find out what the old characters did with their life in the years leading up to Midnight Tour. I especially enjoyed following Sandy through the years. She as been one my favorite characters throughout the Beast House Chronicles and you will find out how she spent her life from story to story.

I have read most of Laymon's work, but Midnight Tour is a cut above his other works. Mr. Laymon is a master of the Horror genre and I highly recommend Midnight Tour to all Horror fiction lovers. It is guaranteed to satisfy even the most jaded of fans.

The third & final installment to The Beast House series, but if you read this without reading the first 2, you will have no problems understanding the plot. Lots of sex, violence & gore and a little twist/surprise at the end. My only complaint is I thought that there were alot of chapters that didn't need to be there - just talk, talk, talk and it kind of dragged down the plot. And again, here is amother Laymon story where a policewomen is buck naked and running around with a gun. The story slowly builds up to an exciting finale - when all the main characters are together to take the "The Midnight Tour" at Beast House - and these chapters are the best in the book.

Easy to read, straight forward story. A little twist at the end makes it even more interesting.. and sets up a sequel as well. There is a strong sexual theme throughout the book--if that's not your thing I'd avoid this. Characters are well developed (if not also chilling for their often lack of emotion/humanity). I read it while on vacation in a week... both horror and suspense that will have you on the edge of your seat. A very good book.

**Note I also read this book WITHOUT having read the previous two books in the series (I didn't realize it was a series until posting it here). This book is easily understood and works well as a stand alone novel without having the prior knowledge from the first two books in the series.**

This book is a lot like The Cellar. A LOT. Here's what I think the author did: He took The Cellar, changed the names of the main characters, threw in a couple hundred pages of meaningless dialog, (which I totally recommend skimming), and changed the title of the book. And there you have it: The Midnight Tour. Just read The Cellar, and skip this one.

I had never read anything by Laymon until a few months ago but he is now one of my favorites.
I got this entire trilogy and read it back-to-back-to-back and was enthralled throughout all three.
Never have I read a trilogy that was so spellbinding through all three.
The Midnight Tour is a great climax to the series, with twists and turns that leave you gasping at times.
My recommendation? If you enjoy horror at its best, get this trilogy and read it all.
