The screenwriter who won an Oscar for "Milk" gave a very heartfelt speech tonight.

I still haven't seen it (damn budget doesn't allow for $9.75 movie tickets and there's no dollar theatre around here) but I loved Dustin Lance Black's speech, I'm so glad he got honored that way.  I don't really like Sean Penn, and when he won I was like "oh no here comes another narcissistic rant", but his speech was great, I was really impressed.

I didn't watch, but I'm soooo happy that Milk received at least 2 Oscars - friends that have seen it have said it was a great movie.  We are still waiting for Milk to show up at our local theater, I think I'll scrimp & save just so I can see it in a theater.

That was so great. Sean Penn is awesome. I finally watched it right after the Oscars. Great, great movie. (=

I finally saw it last night, and its just wonderful.  Sean Penn is remarkable and everyone else is great, too.  Has anyone ever given a bad performance in a Gus Van Sant film?

My mother took me to see the documentary "The Times of Harvey Milk" when I was 13 or 14 (old time liberal that she is) and that's wonderful, too.   It's such an important American story.
